Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a very aggressive and deadly form of breast cancer for which chemotherapy is the only systemic treatment option. Therefore, novel and more effective targeted or combined therapies, such as specific drug delivery systems that selectively target cancer cells, have received much attention. This research aimed to investigate the effect of targeted delivery of chrysin (CH) and 5-fluorouracil (5FU) using polymer nanoparticles on MDA-MB-231 cells.

The use of doxorubicin (Dox) in the treatment of breast cancer negatively affects the intestines and other tissues. Many studies have proven that probiotics and vitamin D3 have antitumor and intestinal tissue-protecting properties. To achieve effectiveness and minimize side effects, the current study aims to administer Dox together with probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus casei) and vitamin D3.

In many industrial processes, worker exposure to cadmium causes kidney damage; thus, protection against cadmium toxicity is important in workplace health. Cadmium toxicity involves oxidative stress by increasing the levels of reactive oxygen species. Statins have shown antioxidant effects that might prevent this increase in oxidative stress.

This dataset demonstrates the in vivo renal histology and biochemical activity of Atorvastatin (AT) in cadmium-induced nephrotoxic rat model. Fifty-six adult male Wistar rats assigned to eight groups. Rats were treated with physiologic saline at a volume of 4 mg/kg, contained Atorvastatin at a dose of 20 mg/kg body weight for 15 days.

Article Synopsis
  • Time-restricted feeding (TRF) for Leghorn chickens, giving them 6 hours to eat, led to a surprising 11.7% reduction in food intake compared to control chickens that ate freely.
  • This resulted in a decrease in body weight (9.6%), visceral fat accumulation (2.6-fold), and egg weight (6.5%), along with a slight initial reduction in egg production (3.6%).
  • Despite lower food intake, TRF improved egg quality and production persisted into older age, suggesting TRF may mitigate age-related effects similar to findings in mammals.
