Purpose: The purpose of this study was to document the malocclusion and facial dysmorphology in patients with primary maxillary deficiency (PMD) and chronic obstructive nasal breathing before treatment and the outcomes after bimaxillary orthognathic, genioplasty, and intranasal surgery.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study of patients with PMD undergoing bimaxillary orthognathic, chin, and intranasal surgery was implemented. The predictor variables were grouped into demographic, anatomic, operative, and longitudinal follow-up categories.
Flying animals exhibit profound transformations in anatomy, physiology, and neural architecture. Although much is known about adaptations in the avian skeleton and musculature, less is known about neuroanatomy and motor unit integration for bird flight. Hummingbirds are among the most maneuverable and specialized of vertebrate fliers, and two unusual neuromuscular features have been previously reported: (1) the pectoralis major has a unique distribution pattern of motor end plates (MEPs) compared with all other birds and (2) electromyograms (EMGs) from the hummingbird's pectoral muscles, the pectoralis major and the supracoracoideus, show activation bursts composed of one or a few spikes that appear to have a very consistent pattern.

Racemic mixture of 7-bromo-3-(2-methoxy)ethoxy-5-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one (13) was separated into enantiomers 14, 15 by chiral HPLC. Absolute configuration of R-enantiomer 15 was determined by the method of X-ray diffraction analysis.

It was shown that the effectiveness of the proposed novel approach for interpretation of decision tree models compared favourably with the PLS method. In the context of the proposed approach, molecular fragments and their values of the relative influence on the affinity for 5-HT1A receptors were defined.

The essence of this system is that the QSAR problem is solved sequentially in a series of the improved models of the description of molecular structure. Thus, at each subsequent stage of a hierarchic system, the QSAR problem is not solved ab ovo, but rather the information obtained from the previous step is used.
