The heterogeneity of soil salinity is a critical attribute of saline agricultural environments, particularly for the physiological adaptability of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) plants. However, the mechanisms by which cotton plants acclimate to heterogenous salinity remain poorly understood.

Background: Rice, a staple food for over half of the global population, exhibits significant diversity in grain shape characteristics, which impact not only appearance and milling quality but also grain weight and yield. Identifying genes and loci underlying these traits is crucial for improving rice breeding programs. Previous studies have identified multiple quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and genes regulating grain length, width, and length-width ratio; however, further investigation is necessary to elucidate their regulatory pathways and their practical application in crop improvement.

Background: Surgery and chemoradiotherapy are the main clinical treatment methods for colorectal cancer (CRC), but the prognosis is poor. The emergence of nanomedicine brings bright light to the treatment of CRC. However, there has not been a comprehensive and systematic analysis of CRC and nanomedicine by bibliometrics.

The vital role of naturally occurring dietary fibers (DFs) in maintaining intestinal health has fueled the incorporation of isolated DFs into processed foods. A select group of soluble DFs, such as partially hydrolyzed guar gum (Phgg), are being promoted as dietary supplements to meet recommended DF intake. However, the potential effects of regular consumption of these processed DFs on gastrointestinal health remain largely unknown.

Silicone coatings are widely employed in marine antifouling applications due to their low surface energy. However, in static marine environments, pure silicone coatings are ineffective in preventing the adhesion of marine biofilms, which consist of proteins, marine bacteria, and extracellular matrices, ultimately promoting the attachment of macrofouling organisms. To address the limitations in antifouling performance under static conditions, this study introduces a silicone-based antifouling coating modified with zwitterionic polymers.
