PHF19 activates hedgehog signaling and promotes tumorigenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Aberrant activation of Hedgehog-Gli1 signaling and accumulation of Gli1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are frequently observed. However, the mechanisms leading to the overactivation of this signaling pathway are not fully understood. In this study, we show that the short isoform of PHD finger protein 19 (PHF19) interacts with β-TrCP, the E3 ligase of Gli1, and that knocking down PHF19 promotes the ubiquitination of Gli1.

Serological chemiluminescence immunoassay for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objective: Dynamic monitoring of the concentration variation of IgM and IgG in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infections and exploring their diagnostic value for coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).

Methods: A total of 15 patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection were enrolled as the COVID-19 group, and 50 patients were enrolled as the control group. The concentrations of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies (IgM and IgG) were detected by a chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA).

Percutaneous microballoon compression for trigeminal neuralgia using Dyna-CT.

Percutaneous microballoon compression (PMC) is a well-established technique for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia (TN). However, direct puncture of the foramen ovale (FO) is sometimes difficult and there have been well-reported complications from cannulating the FO. We describe our experiences in using Dyna-CT for cannulating the FO and determining balloon position and volume.

Endovascular treatment of unruptured A1 segment aneurysms.

Aneurysms of the A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery (A1A) are rare and challenging to treat. Less information is available regarding their management by endovascular approach. We evaluated our experience of endovascular treatment in 15 patients with unruptured A1As.

Studies of a naturally occurring molybdenum-induced copper deficiency in the yak.

The clinical signs of a disorder known locally as "shakeback disease" in yaks in the North of the Qing Hai-Tibetan Plateau of China were defined: they included emaciation, unsteady gait, a 'shivering' back and deprived appetites. Coat colour was not affected. The mineral composition of soil and forages, and samples of blood and hair from yaks in affected ranches in this region were compared with those of 20 samples from unaffected areas.
