Purpose: This study assesses the impact of Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (CAP) pretreatment on the bond strength of two-piece hybrid ceramic abutment crowns in implant dentistry. The objective is to ascertain whether CAP can be employed as an alternative or complementary technique to conventional methods.

Methods: 80 titanium bases and 80 VITA ENAMIC polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) crowns were divided into 8 groups (n = 10) based on different surface pretreatments of the crowns before cementation: no treatment (A), hydrofluoric acid (HF) (B), HF and silane (C), silane (D), CAP (AP), HF and CAP (BP), HF, CAP, and silane (CP), and CAP and silane (DP).

Purpose: The aim of this article is to evaluate to the masticatory function performance and Oral Health-related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) in implant-retained overdenture compared with different implant number placements in the edentulous mandible.

Methods: From 2013 to 2015, each patients received 3 implants (iSy-Implant, Camlog, Wimsheim, Germany) in intraforaminal mandible (34, 41/31, 44). After operation, inserted implants were gradually loaded and incorporated into an overdenture with a self-aligning attachment system (Locator abutments) in 3 + 3 + 3 months.

Background: In implant prosthetic dentistry, the adhesive connection of individualized ceramic crowns and prefabricated titanium bases leads to several benefits. However, the durability of the bonding could be a weak point and especially depends on sufficient surface pretreatment. Cold atmospheric-pressure plasma (CAP) is a pretreatment method that should improve the surface properties without physical damage.

Purpose: An experimental approach was designed to measure the preload force, the coefficient of friction and the component of the tightening torque that is needed to surmount the thread-friction in an implant-abutment-screw complex that includes a carbon-coated screw. With the determined preload values the coefficient of friction was calculated.

Methods: 25 unused complexes, containing an implant, an abutment and a carbon-coated titanium alloy abutment screw, were tested.
