The pilgrimage of this Doctor of Nursing Practice project was to bring postpartum depression (PPD) out of the shadows and into the light. A gap existed in a postpartum ambulatory setting with the screening, detection, and treatment of PPD. A quality improvement project with an evidence-based standard of care for PPD screening was implemented with every postpartum patient.

Methods: This was a descriptive analysis of DNP graduate publications found in the WorldCat database from 2012 through 2018.

Immunofluorescent staining was compared to cell culture for the diagnosis of Chlamydia trachomatis infections in the female genital tract. By culture, the incidence in the 496 patients in the study was 12.3%.

Two hundred young women had simultaneously prepared cultures for Chlamydia trachomatis and cervical smears; they also completed a questionnaire. Twelve of the chlamydial cultures were positive. There was poor correlation between the culture results and the cytologic morphology or symptoms.
