How, Why and Where it Hurts-Breaking Down Pain Syndrome Among Nursing Home Patients With Dementia: A Cross-Sectional Analysis of the COSMOS Trial.

Background: Between 40%-60% of nursing home patients with dementia suffer from chronic and acute pain despite increasing their analgesic drug prescription.

Aims: Determine the locations and intensity of pain and the association between quality of life (QoL) and four stratified pain-analgesic groups: (1) pain-analgesics treatment; (2) pain-no analgesics; (3) no pain-analgesics treatment; and (4) no pain-no analgesics.

Design: Multicenter, multicomponent cluster randomized controlled Communication, Systematic assessment and treatment of pain, Medication review, Occupational therapy, and Safety - an effectiveness (COSMOS) trial.

Pattern of confined chemical garden was controlled by the speed of injected fluid, and their mechanism is discussed. A confined chemical garden system was constructed where an aqueous solution of cobalt chloride was injected into a cell filled with sodium silicate solution. The reaction of these two solutions resulted in the formation of precipitation.

Current Status of Uterine Leiomyosarcoma in the Tohoku Region: Results of the Tohoku Translational Center Development Network Survey.

Background: To prepare for a future clinical trial for improving the long-term prognosis of patients with uterine leiomyosarcoma (ULMS), we conducted a multi-institutional survey in the Tohoku region of Japan.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study between 2011 and 2014 in member institutions of the Tohoku Translational Research Center Development Network.

Results: A total of 53 patients with ULMS were registered in 31 institutions for the present survey.

Cervical cytologic examination during physical checkup of pregnant women: cervical cancer screening in women under the age of thirty.

Recently, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare proposed that cervical cancer screening should be conducted for women aged 20 to 29 years old in Japan. However, there are insufficient data available in Japan concerning the screening conducted for women under the age of 30. Therefore, we made a survey of the results of cervical cytologic examination for pregnant women.
