Chicken spermatozoa in diluent with and without glycerol were evaluated after coculture with oviducal tissues. The motility of glycerolized (G) spermatozoa was lower in the cultures of vaginal tissue than in uterine tissue. The percentage of dead, G spermatozoa increased in cultures of the vagina and uterus but not in infundibulum cultures.

A case of hyperkeratotic squamous epithelium of the distal renal pelvis and ureter, clinically identifiable as leukoplakia, is reported in a solitary kidney. Because of the need to conserve renal parenchyma in this patient, the lesion was treated conservatively at operation after careful exploration and full thickness biopsy failed to reveal malignancy. Close monitoring of this potentially premalignant lesion has documented no progression at twenty-five months.

A heretofore unreported complication from an indwelling catheter is presented. A catheter bulb became incarcerated in a bladder diverticulum and was misdiagnosed subsequently as an incarcerated umbilical hernia. The probable pathophysiological mechanism by which this event occurred is discussed.
