Background: Platelets are limited in supply, and the preservation of platelet function during storage remains challenging. Novel storage approaches are being explored to improve platelet quality, extend shelf life, and reduce risk of infection. This study sought to elucidate platelet function in cold-stored apheresis units in additive solution (platelet additive solution [PAS]) and subjected to pathogen reduction (PR) as well as the impact of cytochrome c (cyt c) supplementation.

Given their demand, the growing occupational and consumer exposure to these materials has warranted an extensive investigation into potential hazards they may pose towards human health. This study utilised both the in vitro mammalian cell gene mutation and the cytokinesis-blocked micronucleus (CBMN) assays to investigate genotoxicity in human lymphoblastoid (TK6) and 16HBE14o human lung epithelial cells, following exposure to NM-400 and NM-401 MWCNTs for 24 h.

Background: The Norwood operation (NO) for infants with univentricular physiology has high interstage mortality. This study evaluated outcomes and risk factors for mortality following NO.
Methods: Retrospective single-center study of patients undergoing NO from 2010 to 2020.
Enfortumab vedotin (EV) is used as monotherapy or combined with pembrolizumab in advanced urothelial carcinoma (aUC), but biomarker data associated with EV outcomes are limited. We identified 170 patients in the UNITE study who received EV monotherapy and had molecular biomarker data available. Outcomes for groups with and without a particular biomarker were compared using logistic regression (unadjusted) for the objective response rate (ORR), and a log-rank test and Cox proportional-hazard models (CPHMs) for progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) from EV initiation.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively aimed to evaluate the relationship of hyperoxia with mortality and other clinical outcomes in patients who required ECLS following Norwood operation between January/2010 and December/2020 in a large volume center.
Results: During the study period 65 patients required ECLS post-Norwood.
