Article Synopsis
  • - Piperazine-2,5-dione (GA) is being used to create a new type of conjugated polymer, PIDHPTT, which is aimed at improving chemical sensing in organic electronics.
  • - Within the polymer, GA changes from a non-conjugated form to a conjugated form, driven by energy minimization and enhanced π-conjugation—this phenomenon is noted as a "long-range vinylogous effect" that has only been seen in small molecules before.
  • - PIDHPTT shows strong interactions with fluoride ions, leading to notable changes in optical and electronic properties, and demonstrates high sensitivity and selectivity in a water-gated field-effect transistor, highlighting its potential for practical applications in chemical

Article Synopsis
  • The development of green fuel from water splitting is crucial for future generations, but the scarcity of fresh water poses a significant challenge.
  • Current electrolyzer techniques cannot directly use seawater due to corrosion issues and the need for single atom catalysts has historically involved harsh chemical processes.
  • A new cobalt-based electrocatalyst, synthesized from waste orange peel, demonstrates high efficiency in oxygen evolution reactions and can successfully operate in desalinated seawater, showing 15 times more activity than commercial counterparts.

In the field of nanotechnology, nanoadsorbents have emerged as a powerful tool for the purification of contaminated aqueous environments. Among the variety of nanoadsorbents developed so far, magnetite (FeO) nanoparticles have drawn particular interest because of their quick separation, low cost, flexibility, reproducibility, and environmentally benign nature. Herein, we describe a new strategy for the synthesis of FeO nanoclusters, which is based on the use of naturally available edible mushrooms (Pleurotus eryngii) and environmentally benign propylene glycol as a solvent medium.

Several concerns exist on the performance and health attributes of sheep fed on complete replacements of the traditional feed ingredients with dried distillers' grain solubles (DDGS). The study intended to know the effect of DDGS on replacing the peanut cake (PNC) at 0%, 50%, 75%, and 100% in sheep fed Jowar stover-based diet. Replacing PNC with DDGS increased (P < 0.

Article Synopsis
  • The paper discusses the challenges in designing a Subsynchronous Damping Controller (SSDC) for systems with multimodal non-identical generators that operate at similar frequencies.
  • It presents a Band-Pass Filter (BPF) based SSDC integrated with a Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) to effectively damp subsynchronous resonance (SSR) in a system modeled after the IEEE First Benchmark Model with two parallel generators of different mechanical complexities.
  • The research shows that the proposed SSDC significantly reduces negative damping across critical torsional modes by utilizing a reduced number of BPFs, maintaining effective frequency selectivity while enhancing overall system stability.
