Objective: The clinical application of race-adjusted algorithms may perpetuate health inequities. We assessed the impact of the vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) calculator, which was revised in 2021 to address concerns about equity. The original algorithm factored race and ethnicity and gave lower VBAC probabilities to Black and Hispanic patients.

Objective: Decision-making is important in user-involved maternity care and patient experience instruments Mothers Autonomy in Decision Making scale (MADM) and Mothers on Respect index (MORi) are used internationally to measure the user involvement quality and users' experiences of autonomy and respect. This study aimed to translate and qualitatively adapt the original MADM and MORi instruments to the Danish language and culture.

Methods: A forward and backward translation using a standard guideline.

Objective: There are lingering concerns in the United States about home birth. We used 2 large (n = 50,043; n = 62,984), national community birth registries to compare maternal and neonatal outcomes for planned home versus planned birth center births.

Methods: To compare outcomes by intended birth site, we used logistic regressions, controlling for demographic and pregnancy risk variables.

Background: Respectful maternity care includes shared decision-making (SDM). However, research on SDM is lacking from the intrapartum period and instruments to measure it have only recently been developed.
