The natural pollinator of the major species of commercially-grown vanilla, , is unknown, and the crop requires hand pollination to achieve significant levels of fruit set; however, the traditional technique (using a toothpick) is costly, as it requires skilled personnel. To overcome this problem, two native Australian bees, and , and the blowfly, , were trialled as pollinators. Three alternatives to the toothpick method were also trialled.

PSMA PET/CT patterns of recurrence after mono-brachytherapy in men with low and intermediate prostate cancer and subsequent management.

Purpose: Brachytherapy as monotherapy is a recommended treatment option for men with low to intermediate risk prostate cancer. Local recurrence is difficult to identify. This study investigated PSMA PET/CT for recurrence after brachytherapy, as well as their subsequent management when recurrence occurred only within the prostate.

Modern Tools for Modern Brachytherapy.

This review aims to showcase the brachytherapy tools and technologies that have emerged during the last 10 years. Soft-tissue contrast using magnetic resonance and ultrasound imaging has seen enormous growth in use to plan all forms of brachytherapy. The era of image-guided brachytherapy has encouraged the development of advanced applicators and given rise to the growth of individualised 3D printing to achieve reproducible and predictable implants.

Intensification of Local Therapy With High Dose Rate, Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (HDR-IORT) and Extended Resection for Locally Advanced and Recurrent Colorectal Cancer.

Background: We report our long-term experience with high dose rate intraoperative radiotherapy (HDR-IORT) in a single, quaternary institution.

Patients/methods: From 2004 to 2020, 60 HDR-IORT procedures for locally advanced colorectal cancer (LACC) and 81 for locally recurrent colorectal cancer (LRCC) were done in our institution. Preoperative radiotherapy was done prior to majority of the resections (89%, 125/141).

Adjuvant chemotherapy following chemoradiotherapy as primary treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer versus chemoradiotherapy alone (OUTBACK): an international, open-label, randomised, phase 3 trial.

Background: Standard treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer is chemoradiotherapy, but many patients relapse and die of metastatic disease. We aimed to determine the effects on survival of adjuvant chemotherapy after chemoradiotherapy.

Methods: The OUTBACK trial was a multicentre, open-label, randomised, phase 3 trial done in 157 hospitals in Australia, China, Canada, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the USA.
