Synthesized mammography (SM) refers to two-dimensional (2D) images derived from the digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) data. It can reduce the radiation dose and scan duration when compared with conventional full-field digital mammography (FFDM) plus tomosynthesis. Methods: In October 2023, around 50 healthcare professionals and Māori leaders from across Aotearoa, New Zealand, attended a wānanga, an Indigenous Māori approach for sharing knowledge and engaging in in-depth discussion and deliberation.

- A study evaluated the effects of cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) on eight patients with recurrent adult GCTs, showing a median overall survival of 11.5 months post-treatment.
- The procedure demonstrated acceptable levels of postoperative complications, but more research is needed to confirm its effectiveness as a treatment option for recurrent GCTs.
Perioperative opioids are associated with several adverse effects including nausea, vomiting, and long-term addiction. Opioid-free anesthesia may reduce postoperative morbidity, enable daycare surgery, and decrease cancer recurrence. In our study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of opioid-free anesthesia versus opioid-based anesthesia in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery in terms of postoperative opioid use, pain scores, expression of immune cells, and side effects.
