The molecular genetic study of genes (Phase II) of biotransformation of xenobiotics in 166 long livers and in 169 persons of the control group living in Ivano-Frankovsk region has been done. It was found that the frequency of functionally inactive allele of GSTT1 gene in all long livers (Ivano-Frankovsk region) reached to 24,70 and in control group - 20.12%.

The mutagenic activity of the pUC19 bacterial plasmid DNA and the pAins recombinant plasmid DNA carrying human insulin gene has been investigated. Both pUC19 and pAins plasmid DNAs have been shown to induce the gene mutations in hprt locus of Chinese hamster cell line. The high level of the gene mutations (similar to the indices of the gene mutations induced by the chemical mutagens) has been in the focus of attention.

Human adenovirus 1 was studied for its effect on the chromosomal apparatus both in bone marrow cells and male sex cells of mice. Chromosome aberrations were most early detected in spermatocytes of the 1st order mice infected with human adenovirus 1. In bone marrow cells of mice the highest level of chromosome aberrations was observed 30, 60, 90 days after the inoculation, which corresponds to a more frequent detection of the adenoviral antigen.
