The EEG effects of intake of the mean therapeutic single dose of cholinomimetic amiridin (20 mg) or cholinolytic amizyl (2 mg) were studied in 7 healthy subjects. After the intake of the drugs with agonistic and antagonistic action, significant opposite changes in the EEG spectral density were observed in the frequency ranges of 0.6-6.

Pharmacogenous shifts in EEG spectral density induced by mutually antagonistic noradrenotropic influences (pairs sydnocarb-obsidan and sydnocarb-sonapax) were compared in each of four subjects by means of factor and discriminant analysis. Narrow-band oppositely directed reactions were revealed almost in all classical EEG diapasons in a range of 0.5-30 Hz.

To find EEG-markers of catecholaminergic activation shifts EEG power spectra of white rats were computed before and after intraperitoneal injections of propranolol, metaproterenol, haloperidol, amantadine, or isotonic sodium chloride solution. Differential spectral characteristics were undergone to factor analysis and discriminant analysis. Factors with similar structure for both catecholaminergic systems were revealed in EEG-reactions to mutually antagonistic injections and relatively specific factors as well.

Patients with asthenic disorders were examined for EEG reactions to the administration of some nootropics. The significance of the narrow bands of the post-drug EEG spectrum was revealed. According to these data, the detailed EEG profiles of the nootropics under study were obtained.
