A free-energy functional is presented to explicitly take into account pair correlations between molecules in inhomogeneous fluids. The framework of classical density functional theory (DFT) is used to describe the variation in the density of molecules interacting through a Mie (generalized Lennard-Jones) potential. Grand Canonical Monte Carlo simulations are performed for the systems to validate the new functional.

Methods: We searched MEDLINE (via PubMed), Embase, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials.gov, and the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP) to retrieve all the relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on this topic.
Background: Open fractures with extensive soft-tissue damage, significant periosteal stripping, and exposed bone ends pose a significant challenge in orthopaedics. So, we conducted a prospective study that investigated the efficacy of vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy in improving functional outcomes for orthopaedic open wounds.
Methods: A prospective case series was conducted for a period of 18 months at the department of orthopaedics.
Intestinal obstruction is a common surgical emergency that requires prompt intervention. We present a case report of a 30-year-old male with recurrent intestinal obstruction due to sigmoid volvulus. Our case highlights the challenges associated with managing recurrent intestinal obstructions caused by adhesions following surgical interventions for sigmoid volvulus.
