We demonstrate the potential of new adaptive optical technology to expand the detection horizon of gravitational-wave observatories. Achieving greater quantum-noise-limited sensitivity to spacetime strain hinges on achieving higher circulating laser power, in excess of 1 MW, in conjunction with highly squeezed quantum states of light. The new technology will enable significantly higher levels of laser power and squeezing in gravitational-wave detectors, by providing high-precision, low-noise correction of limiting sources of thermal distortions directly to the core interferometer optics.

Introduction: Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) has demonstrated a favorable benefit-risk profile in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Some patients may develop lymphopenia on DMF; therefore, LymphoTEC evaluated absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) reconstitution after DMF discontinuation.

Methods: LymphoTEC was a retrospective, multicenter study of patients with RRMS in the Observatoire Français de la Sclérose en Plaques registry.

Mutations in the TWNK gene were described in patients with Perrault syndrome—an autosomal-recessive disease that includes hearing loss, central auditory and speech disorders, cerebellar ataxia, motor and sensory neuropathy, and ovarian dysfunction. Only around 100 cases of Perrault syndrome have been described to date. Genetically, it caused by biallelic pathologic variants in 1 of 6 genes.

Objective: Perioperative stroke after carotid artery stenting (CAS) is rare. However, the degree of disability and long-term effects from a postoperative stroke remain unclear. Our goal was to assess the degree of disability from a stroke after transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) and transfemoral CAS (TFCAS) for asymptomatic carotid artery disease, and the associated 1-year impact on subsequent neurological events and mortality.

The regeneration of endothelial cells (ECs) lining arteries, veins, and large lymphatic vessels plays an important role in vascular pathology. To understand the mechanisms of atherogenesis, it is important to determine what happens during endothelial regeneration. A comparison of these processes in the above-mentioned vessels reveals both similarities and some significant differences.
