[Electrophoretic heterogeneity of peripheral blood granulocytes in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia].

The peripheral blood leukocytes in chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) patients and healthy donors are separated on ficoll-verografin one-step gradients with 1.077 g/ml density. It is shown that 95-98% of donor granulocytes had the density above 1.

[Effect of anions on the oxidative phosphorylation and ATPase activity in mitochondria].

Bicarbonate, sulfate and thiocyanate affected distinctly the ADP/O ratio and the rate of oxygen consumption in liver mitochondria. Alterations in the ADP/O coefficient and the ATPase activity were studied in liver and heart mitochondria of control and fasted rats as well as of animals maintained under hypoxy-hypercapnic conditions. Satisfactory correlation was shown between a decrease both in the ADP/O ratio and in sensitivity of ATPase to bicarbonate in liver mitochondria of the animals subjected to these treatments.

[Effect of nitrofuran derivatives on the oxygen consumption by rat liver mitochondria].

Utilization of oxygen in rat liver mitochondria was studied using two nitrofuran derivatives 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde semicarbazone (furacin) and soluble derivative of nitrofuran--M-106-P. The substances at 10(-3) M concentration increased O2 consumption in mitochondria with simultaneous decrease in the respiratory control. After blocking of respiration with KCN, antimycine, rhothenone, the nitrofurans stimulated O2 consumption in mitochondria up to 30% as compared with controls.
