[Influence of carbohydrate substrate feeding rate on productivity of recombinant Escherichia coli strain].

Effect of different regimes of glucose feeding on growth rate and recombinant protein synthesis of recombinant E. coli was investigated. It was estimated that the selected regime of substrate feeding provided enhanced finished product yield up to 40-50 per cent.

[Development of technology for isolation and purification of gentamicin using sorption without filtration].

A technology for isolation and purification of gentamicin from nonfiltered fermentation broth with the use of sorption-pulsory columns was developed as a result of the research work. The practical application of the technology will increase the yield from 30 to 57 per cent and reduce the content of the minor admixtures in the final product up to 5 per cent in comparison to the currently used process.

[Use of electrodialysis in the technology of desalinization of chromatographic eluates of proteins].

In a model of recombinant protein as an intermediate in production of rRNA-origin insulin, electrodialysis was shown to be useful in demineralization of protein chromatographic eluates. The operation conditions were developed. It was demonstrated that the electrodialysis provided higher purity of the recombinant protein.

[Analogs of human proinsulin. Obtaining a deletion at the site of the proinsulin gene encoding the region of receptor binding].

A strain producing 5-del-proinsulin was designed on the basis of an industrial strain producing human recombinant proinsulin. 5-Del-proinsulin is an analog of human recombinant proinsulin. The new strain contains a deletion of 5 amino acid residues in the C-end region of the B-chain and a residue of tyrosine at B25.
