Two novel 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-diamide ligands were constructed on the basis of 2-phenylpyrrolidine and obtained as pure diastereomers. These ligands demonstrated advanced properties in liquid-liquid extraction tests. They revealed high efficiency of americium(III) extraction alongside with the record values of selectivity in the separation of americium from light lanthanides from strongly acidic media.

This research is aimed at analyzing existing plugging compositions and developing a new plugging composition based on phenol-formaldehyde resin. This paper presents the results of studies of a hardening composition based on phenol-formaldehyde resin for repair and insulation work in wells. The plugging composition consists of two parts: Component "A" (resin and additives) and Component "B" (hardener).

The reaction of 3-halo-5,6-dihydro-4-1,2-oxazine -oxides with arynes was studied. Arynes were generated from -silylaryl triflates and underwent consecutive [3 + 2]-cycloaddition/[4 + 2]-cycloreversion with -oxides leading to substituted 3-vinyl-benzisoxazoles in high yields. In the presented sequence, 1,2-oxazine -oxides act as surrogates of rarely employed unsaturated nitrile oxides.

Today, a significant part of production wells' stock has a high water cut percentage of 90% and above. Obviously, for this reason, the need to develop new and improved existing technologies for water shut-off in wells increases every year. Physico-chemical methods of water shut-off are based on the application of special reagents and compositions that plug the pathways of water inflow to the well.
