Background: We evaluated the effect of rapid ART (RA) compared to delayed ART (DA) on viral load suppression (viral load <50 cp/mL) and loss to follow-up (LTFU) in a cohort of migrants living with HIV (MLWHs) in Italy.

Methods: Data were retrospectively gathered from MLWHs who began care at the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Unit of the Careggi University Hospital from January 2014 to December 2022. RA was defined as antiretrovirals prescribed within 7 days of HIV diagnosis.

Nitrogen supplied to wheat crops to increase grain productivity is being scrutinized because of its role in greenhouse gas emissions. Nitrogen affects food quality as well as food security because it increases grain protein content and can change wheat protein composition, both of which affect the rheological properties of dough made from the grain. This review explores the relationship between nitrogen functionality, wheat protein content and the ratio of gliadins to glutenins through critical assessment of recent studies on nitrogen fertilization of wheat.

Maize root responds to nitrate by modulating its development through the coordinated action of many interacting players. Nitric oxide is produced in primary root early after the nitrate provision, thus inducing root elongation. In this study, RNA sequencing was applied to discover the main molecular signatures distinguishing the response of maize root to nitrate according to their dependency on, or independency of, nitric oxide, thus discriminating the signaling pathways regulated by nitrate through nitric oxide from those regulated by nitrate itself of by further downstream factors.
