Postrema area syndrome in the context of systemic lupus erythematosus: Case report.

Introduction: The area postrema, located on the floor of the fourth ventricle, regulates vomiting, fluid balance, osmoregulation, and immunomodulation. First documented in 1896, it has been a subject of scientific interest ever since. Area postrema syndrome (APS) is characterised by intractable nausea, vomiting, or hiccups, typically associated with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).

Implementation of patient-reported outcome dashboards within the electronic health record to support shared decision-making in serious chronic illness.

Background: Attending to patient-reported outcomes (PROs) using data visualisation dashboards could enhance shared decision-making (SDM) and care delivery for serious chronic illnesses. However, few studies have evaluated real-world strategies and resulting implementation outcomes of PRO dashboards.

Little is known about how subinhibitory concentrations of antibiotics to which bacteria are resistant affect bacterial virulence. In this study, the effect of subinhibitory concentrations of ampicillin on the virulence of E. coli O104:H4 was analyzed.
