Assessment of autoantibodies associated with intravenous immunoglobulin replacement therapy in children with primary immunodeficiency.

While it is known that immunoglobulin replacement therapy (IgRT) used in the treatment of primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDs) can lead to the passive transfer of autoantibodies, there is no data indicating that these antibodies can cause clinical symptoms in patients. This study aimed to investigate the presence of autoantibodies and their clinical correlation in patients diagnosed with PIDs receiving IgRT. Paediatric patients who were diagnosed with PIDs, and administered IgRT at our immunology clinic between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2021, were included in the study.

Relationship between serum vitamin D levels and the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis: A retrospective study on 3424 subjects.

Background: The extent of the association between vitamin D deficiency and knee osteoarthritis remains inadequately understood.

Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between vitamin D levels and knee osteoarthritis through a cross-sectional analysis.

Methods: This retrospective study involved an analysis of knee radiographs and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25-(OH) vitamin D3) levels in a cohort of 3424 individuals (2901 women and 523 men).

Evaluation of vaccination status of health care workers for recommended vaccines and their acceptance of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.

Introduction: Health care workers (HCWs) are disproportionately exposed to infectious diseases and play a role in nosocomial transmission, making them a key demographic for vaccination. HCW vaccination rates are not optimal in many countries; hence, compulsory vaccination policies have been implemented in some countries. Although these policies are effective and necessary under certain conditions, resolving HCWs' hesitancies and misconceptions about vaccines is crucial.

SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity among pediatric health care personnel after the first peak of the pandemic: nationwide surveillance in Turkey.

Background: Understanding SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence among health care personnel is important to explore risk factors for transmission, develop elimination strategies and form a view on the necessity and frequency of surveillance in the future.

Methods: We enrolled 4927 health care personnel working in pediatric units at 32 hospitals from 7 different regions of Turkey in a study to determine SARS Co-V-2 seroprevalence after the first peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. A point of care serologic lateral flow rapid test kit for immunoglobulin (Ig)M/IgG was used.
