Purpose: The primary objectives of this study were to evaluate safety, and efficacy of Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) using doxorubicin-loaded radiopaque microspheres (DC Bead LUMI™) for the treatment of early and intermediate stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) not amenable for curative treatments. Distribution of the microspheres was correlated with results post embolization.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective, single arm, open label study.
We present a case of a 70-year-old patient with hepatocellular carcinoma treated with RFA. The lesion was located in segment II under the ribs. During RFA pleural effusion is presented.

Radiofrequency (RF) ablation was applied successfully not only to the main tumor but also directly to the invaded PV. On the last imaging follow-up performed at 16 months after RF ablation the PV remained recanalized.

A number of different methods have been proposed for pain relief in cancer patients with bone metastases, each with different indications, contraindications and complications (systemic analgesics, bisphosphonates, antitumor chemotherapy, radiotherapy, systemic radio-isotopes, local surgery and vertebroplasty). The ideal treatment has to be fast, safe, effective and tolerable for the patient. CT-guided radiofrequency (RF) ablation may fulfill these criteria.
