Thioxanthone Synthesis from Thioureas through Double Aryne Insertion into a Carbon-Sulfur Double Bond.

Thioxanthone synthesis from -silylaryl triflates and thioureas is disclosed. Double aryne insertion into the C═S double bond of thioureas and subsequent hydrolysis realized the facile preparation of thioxanthones. A simple reaction procedure and good accessibility of -silylaryl triflates allowed us to synthesize a wide range of highly functionalized thioxanthones.

A Case of Spontaneous Regression of Adult Multi-system Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis Presenting as Liver Tumor Rupture.

Adult multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis (MS-LCH) is rare and has a poor prognosis. A 67-year-old man with MS-LCH presented with a hepatic tumor rupture and multiple masses in the lungs, liver, and pancreas. Despite the initial aggressive disease course and involvement of organs at risk, the patient experienced spontaneous regression and lesion disappearance following smoking cessation without chemotherapy.

C-Mannosyl tryptophan (CMW), a unique glycosylated amino acid, is considered to be produced by degradation of C-mannosylated proteins in living organism. Although protein C-mannosylation is involved in the folding and secretion of substrate proteins, the pathophysiological function in the hematological system is still unclear. This study aimed to assess CMW in the human hematological disorders.
