Background: Atrial Fibrillation (AF) among patients with cancer is a significant health concern for older adults in the United States. This study analyzes trends and demographic disparities in mortality rates related to AF in patients with cancer aged 65+.
Methods: The CDC WONDER database was used to analyze Age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMRs) for to AF in patients with cancer (ICD-10 I48, C00- C97) from 1999 to 2023, stratified by sex, race, geography, and metropolitan status.

Obesity affects approximately 72 million Americans and is a significant contributor to ischemic heart disease (IHD). Given the scarcity of data, this observational study examines trends and disparities in IHD-related mortality among obese individuals in the United States from 2003 to 2019 using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Wide-Ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research data. Age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMRs) were calculated for IHD as the underlying cause of death and obesity as a contributing cause of death, revealing an increase in IHD-related mortality among obese adults.

Sediment restoration has become a key link in river and lake pollution control. This present study investigated the selection of dominant microbial bacteria, the selection and optimization of microbial immobilized carrier materials, and the effect of embedded immobilized microbial remediation of bottom sediments based on the actual restoration pilot project of eutrophic Wolong Lake. The composite of denitrifying and photosynthetic bacteria at a ratio of 1 : 2 showed the best performance with COD, TN, and TP removal efficiencies of 74.
