Metronidazole is a synthetic antibacterial and antiprotozoan agent. Crystallization occurs in aqueous metronidazole benzoate suspensions caused by an anhydrate to monohydrate conversion. This study aimed to develop an aqueous metronidazole benzoate suspension that does not exhibit this hydration and the accompanying crystal growth.

This survey was undertaken to determine the occlusal status of a selected group of urban Zambian Black 9-12 year old children at 5 different schools in the same geographical area in order to determine their need for orthodontic treatment. The examination criteria of the Occlusal Index of Summers (1966) were used. Six hundred and one children who had not previously received orthodontic treatment were examined.

The prevalence and severity of fluorosis were examined in 5 villages in one endemic area. The fluorosis indices of Thylstrup and Fejerskov and of Dean were used. 3,103 children were examined and the drinking water sources of each of the 1,635 fluorosis cases established.
