Objectives: To investigate the efficacy of prophylactic embolization of the internal iliac artery (IIA) or superior gluteal artery (SGA) before open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in reducing intraoperative blood loss (IBL) in hemodynamically stable patients with complex acetabular fractures.
Materials And Methods: A total of 136 patients with complex acetabular fractures were retrospectively included and divided into the prophylactic transcatheter arterial embolization (PTAE) group and non-PTAE group, depending on whether ipsilateral IIA or SGA was embolized using coils within 3 days before ORIF. Demographic characteristics, injury severity score (ISS), fracture classification, and intraoperative and postoperative data were compared between the two groups.

High yield and good quality are two predominant objectives of most of the wheat breeding programs. Modulating HMW-GS composition is an effective approach to improve grain quality without yield penalty. In this study, we first analyzed the background similarity of three near-isogenic lines (NILs) with 1Ax-null, 1Ax1 or 1Ax2∗ alleles in the background of cultivar Xiaoyan-22 at the protein and DNA levels.

However, the diverse and scattered care requirements of these individuals make developing effective long-term care plans heavily reliant on professional nursing staff, and even experienced caregivers may make mistakes or face confusion during the care plan development process. Consequently, there is a rigid demand for intelligent systems that can recommend comprehensive long-term care plans for older adults with disabilities who have stable clinical conditions.

Methods: Retrospective collection of MR images from patients suspected of having placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) was conducted across three institutions: Institution I (n = 505), Institution II (n = 67), and Institution III (n = 58). Data from Institution I were utilized to form a training set, while data from Institutions II and III served as an external test set.
Soil alkalinization and global warming are predicted to pose major challenges to agriculture in the future, as they continue to accelerate, markedly reducing global arable land and crop yields. Therefore, strategies for future agriculture are needed to further improve globally cultivated, relatively high-yielding Green Revolution varieties (GRVs) derived from the SEMIDWARF 1 (SD1) gene. Here we propose that precise regulation of the phytohormone gibberellin (GA) to optimal levels is the key to not only confer alkali-thermal tolerance to GRVs, but also to further enhance their yield.
