Amine functionalized bentonites were used as adsorbents for the bioremoval of Fe(III) ions, which led to the inclusion of functional groups such as -OH, -NH2, -OCH3, etc. FTIR, XRD, SEM, AFM, TG, BET, XRF, and CHNS analyzer were used to analyze the surface and textural characteristics. The influence of adsorption factors, such as pH, contact time, temperature, and initial concentration, have been investigated and tailored in batch adsorption experiments of Fe (III) metal ions.

Article Synopsis
  • * This study tested Tamarindus indica L. seed polysaccharides by adding them in varying amounts (0.05 to 0.30 g) to coffee effluent, finding that 0.10 g effectively reduced total dissolved solids by 55% and chemical oxygen demand by 80%.
  • * Analysis techniques indicated that the polysaccharides possess functional groups that help remove pollutants, suggesting they could be a sustainable alternative to chemical agents for treating wastewater and supporting environmental health.

Background: Fasting is practiced by various religions in the world. The previous studies show the effect of fasting on biochemical markers in healthy subjects; however, no study is available on its effect on gene expression or epigenetic markers. In the present study, miR126, a microRNA, was measured in serum samples of healthy adult subjects, and their correlation with biochemical profile was carried out during the short-term fasting of the Navratri festival.

Objectives: We assessed the quality of life, sleep, depression, anxiety, and stress in people with pharmacoresistant epilepsy (PRE) and newly diagnosed epilepsy (NDE). We also assessed the influence of sleep, depression, anxiety, and stress on the quality of life (QOL) and the complex association between these factors.

Methods: We recruited 80 PRE and 70 NDE people attending the epilepsy clinic.
