The aim of this study was to investigate the representation of women in the German-speaking scientific publication landscape of otorhinolaryngology.Authorship was analyzed based on articles published between 2013 and 2023 in the two largest otorhinolaryngology journals (Laryngorhinootologie, HNO) to determine the frequency and percentage of gender distribution among first and last authorships.A total of 2,631 articles were examined.

Increased mTOR signaling has been implicated in glioma-induced neuronal hyperexcitability, but the molecular and functional consequences have not been identified. Here, we show three types of changes in tumor-associated neurons: (1) downregulation of transcripts encoding excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic proteins and dendritic spine development and upregulation of cytoskeletal transcripts via neuron-specific profiling of ribosome-bound mRNA, (2) marked decreases in dendritic spine density via light and electron microscopy, and (3) progressive functional alterations leading to neuronal hyperexcitability via in vivo calcium imaging.

Purpose: To report long-term motor and sensory outcomes after unilateral lateral rectus recession-medial rectus resection for infantile constant exotropia.
Methods: The medical records of patients who had undergone unilateral lateral rectus recession-medial rectus resection for infantile constant exotropia who were followed up postoperatively for a minimum of 4 years were reviewed retrospectively.
Results: A total of 20 patients were included.
Nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) cell signaling pathway is essential for the progression and development of numerous human disorders, including cancer. NF-κB signaling pathway regulates a wide range of physiological processes, such as cell survival, growth, and migration. Deregulated NF-kB signaling resulted in unregulated cell proliferation, viability, movement, and invasion, thus promoting tumor development.

Research indicates that better dietary quality-higher intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and lower intake of processed foods-reduces T2DM risk. This study examines the relationship between T2DM and dietary quality indices (DQI-I and DQI-R) to determine if adherence can lower diabetes risk.
