This case report describes an 82-year-old patient who was treated in a gerontological psychiatric ward due to a multifactorial gait disorder with falls. The main component of the gait disorder was depression, which was accompanied by a pronounced fear of falling. Other factors were polyneuropathy, gonarthrosis and an exercise deficit after previous inactivity.
