Unresectable obstructing rectal cancer with synchronous hepatic metastases is usually a fatal disease. This prospective study was scheduled to treat this difficult condition using a multimodal curative strategy combined with a two-stage surgical treatment. We report a patient who suffered from granulomatous hepatitis probably due to the administration of aprindine. Evidence of hepatitis appeared within 6 weeks of initiating aprindine therapy and resolved rapidly when the drug was withdrawn.
