The antirheumatic effect of a new nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug, irritren, a derivative of arylacetic acid namely ionazolac calcium was studied. The favourable effect of irritren treatment in reactivated arthrosis was compared to that of indomethacin. To this end 40 patients were divided into two groups of 20 patients each who were treated for 14 days with: irritren in daily doses of 3 X 200 mg-Group I, and with indomethacin in daily doses of 3 X 25 mg-group II.
