We investigated the functional damages of cytoplasm and cell membrane of liver grafts in male WKY rats after 24hr- or 48hr-cold preservation using a UW solution in vitro. 10mM fructose or 50mM NH4Cl was added to the perfusate, and synthesis of fructose-1-phosphate (F-1-P) and Na(+)- and H(+)-ion transports through the cell membrane were evaluated with 31P-MRS and 23Na-MRS. After 30 minutes of reperfusion, beta-ATP/(inorganic phosphate: Pi) of the 48hr-preserved liver was significantly lower than those of the other groups.
