Trastuzumab is the primary treatment for all stages of HER2-overexpressing breast cancer in patients. Though discovered over 20 years ago, trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity (TIC) remains a research topic in cardio-oncology. This review explores the pathophysiological basis of TIC and its clinical manifestations.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare and uncommon condition, characterized by the presence of mucinous ascites in the abdominal cavity. The most common cause of PMP is mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix, followed by neoplasms of the ovary, endocervix, fallopian tube, alimentary organs, urachus, urinary bladder, lung, mucinous cyst of the spleen, and breast. Herein, we report a case of a 64-year-old postmenopausal woman (gravida 2, para 2) who presented at the department of gynecology with a short history of nausea and abdominal distention.

The incidence of OC is approximately five times higher in women over 65 years of age. Cardiovascular comorbidities and type 2 diabetes mellitus, both prevalent at this age, can influence therapeutic strategy and have an adverse effect on survival.

A necessary requirement to achieve metastable states in flavylium systems is the existence of a high cis-trans isomerization barrier, as in 4'-hydroxyflavylium described through this paper. In an optical memory, the metastable state could be the signal to be detected upon the write step.

The complex species were attached to the polymer chain via a phosphoramide bond resulting from the reaction between the H-phosphonate groups and the middle amino group of the spermidine moiety. (1)H and (31)P{H} DOSY NMR spectral data were used to prove the conjugation reaction and to characterize the new species.
