Liposarcomas (LSs) are a rare form of malignant tumors. They are the most common primary neoplasms of the retroperitoneum. While these tumors rarely metastasise, they are characterised by local recurrence and infiltration.

Transient Brugada Pattern Induced by Loperamide Abuse.

Brugada syndrome (BrS) is classically a malignant, genetically determined, arrhythmic syndrome manifesting as syncope or sudden cardiac death (SCD) in individuals with structurally normal hearts.An exceedingly rare cause of an induced electrocardiogram (ECG) pattern mimicking BrS is secondary to loperamide abuse. The following case describes the onset of a transient Brugada pattern secondary to loperamide abuse in a young healthy male.

A new method for determination of urinary tryptophan metabolites in bladder carcinoma.

Abnormal tryptophan metabolism in patients with bladder carcinoma has been reported to have an extremely high correlation with future tumor recurrences. The methods for determination of these urinary metabolites have not been applicable for routine clinical use in the past. A new method is described using thin layer chromatography followed by fluorescent scanning with the SD 3000 spectrodensitometer.
