It reduces the hydrostatic pressure and helps in relieving the compressive forces within the intracanalicular portion of the optic nerve consequently preserving and arresting the deterioration of vision. The advantages of the endoscopic approach over other procedures include preservation of olfaction, quick recovery, lack of external scars and less morbidity.
