Background: Metastatic breast cancer (mBC) guidelines recommend multidisciplinary meetings (MDM), but there is limited research on their impact. This prospective study examines the impact of an mBC MDM on management plans, their implementation rate, and costs and benefits at an Australian metropolitan breast cancer center.
Methods: Consecutive mBC MDM patients were enrolled.
Background: Early phase clinical trials in Oncology represent a subspecialised area where UK patient selection is influenced by access to Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMCs). Equity of access with respect to social determinants of health (SDoH) were explored for two major ECMCs.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study including all referrals to Newcastle and Manchester ECMCs in 2021 was completed.
Background: Thrombin-activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI) levels are positively correlated with the risk of thrombosis. The mechanism of how TAFI affects venous thromboembolism (VTE) remains uncertain. In addition, the role of sex on the risk of VTE has also been studied.
