Reducing the Individual Carbon Impact of Video Streaming: A Seven-Week Intervention Using Information, Goal Setting, and Feedback.

This online intervention study examined whether system- and action-related information alone, together with goal setting, or together with goal setting and feedback helps people change their video streaming activities in a pro-environmental way. The participants ( = 92) documented their video streaming activities for one week prior to the intervention (week 1), three weeks after the onset of the intervention (weeks 2-4), and in a follow-up period two weeks later (week 7). A reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with video streaming was observed over the course of the intervention, together with reduced streaming durations and lowered resolution settings across all groups.

Individualised positive end-expiratory pressure guided by electrical impedance tomography for robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: a prospective, randomised controlled clinical trial.

Background: Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy requires general anaesthesia, extreme Trendelenburg positioning and capnoperitoneum. Together these promote impaired pulmonary gas exchange caused by atelectasis and may contribute to postoperative pulmonary complications. In morbidly obese patients, a recruitment manoeuvre (RM) followed by individualised PEEP improves intraoperative oxygenation and end-expiratory lung volume (EELV).

Update on ischemic colitis: from etiopathology to treatment including patients of intensive care unit.

Ischemic colitis is the result of colonic hypoperfusion and is regarded as a relatively rare condition. It can be roughly classified as occlusive and non-occlusive. Pathogenesis includes a usually transient compromise in the colonic vasculature, with a parallel activation of an inflammatory cascade caused primarily by reperfusion.

Enlargement of regional lymph nodes in renal cell carcinoma is often not due to metastases.

Preoperative axial computerized tomography scans in 163 patients with renal cell carcinoma were reviewed to assess the predictive value for the diagnosis of regional lymph node metastases. Computerized tomography was falsely negative in 5 patients: 2 had metastatic lymph nodes in the renal hilus adjacent to the primary tumor measuring 2 and 2.5 cm.
