Arthritis of the wrist can lead to severe functionally debilitating pain which, after failed conservative measures, may require treatment with total wrist replacement (TWR). Various prosthetic designs, such as the Universal 2 implant, have been developed in attempts to combat the multitude of complications faced with replacing a complex and highly mobile joint. Having previously published short-term outcome results for the Universal 2 prosthesis, we now present the long-term survival data.

Objectives: To study the possible sex-dependent differences of all-cause mortality and patterns of cause-specific mortality among men and women with CAO and RSP, respectively, to that of normal lung function (NLF).
Design: Population-based prospective cohort study.
Carbon nanodots, a family of carbon-based nanomaterials, have been synthesized through different methods from various resources, affecting the properties of the resulting product and their application. Herein, carbon nanodots (CNDs) were synthesized with a green and simple hydrothermal method from sage leaves at 200 °C for 6 hours. The obtained CNDs are well dispersed in water with a negative surface charge (-potential = -11 mV) and an average particle size of 3.

Spirometry is essential for diagnosis and assessment of prognosis in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). To identify FEV trajectories and their determinants on the basis of annual spirometry measurements among individuals with and without airway obstruction (AO) and to assess mortality in relation to trajectories. From 2002 through 2004, individuals with AO (FEV/VC < 0.
