Four heteroaromatic compounds bearing nitrate esters were selected using a virtual-screening procedure as putative sterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51) Candida albicans inhibitors. Compounds were examined for their inhibition on C. albicans growth and biofilm formation as well as for their toxicity.

According to experimental studies the antiinflammatory, immunoprotective, antioxidant and neuroprotective role of the locally perfused corticosteroids was noticed in the inner ear structures. The recovery of action potentials in the cells of the Corti organ was confirmed as well as a decreased expression of aquaporine-1, a glycoprotein responsible for labyrinth hydrops and N and K ions derangement.

Introduction: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a cell surface glycoprotein and member of immunoglobuline superfamily. Recent studies pointed out that this glycoprotein also belonged to the family of intercellular adhesive molecules (ICAMs).
