Article Synopsis
  • Surgical removal of impacted third molars often leads to post-operative pain, swelling, and trismus, prompting the study to compare the effectiveness of different dexamethasone administration routes.
  • The study involved 60 patients divided into three groups: a control group, an oral dexamethasone group, and an intra-masseteric injection group, with evaluations conducted over seven days for pain, swelling, and trismus.
  • Results indicated that oral dexamethasone was more effective than the injection route for reducing trismus, while neither method significantly affected swelling, leading to the conclusion that oral dexamethasone is the superior choice in this context.
