Unraveling the activity and stability of cationic tellurium activators in Ritter-type reactions.

We carried out Ritter-type reactions using two kinds of cationic tellurium activators. Compared with the trivalent dianisylmethyltelluronium cation, the divalent telluroviologen derivatives showed higher activity and better stability. Telluroviologen activator could cleave the C-OH bond of benzhydrol and the reaction was accelerated under LED light irradiation.

The mesothelium is a non-adhesive protective surface that lines the serosal cavities and organs within the body. The glycocalyx is a complex structure that coats the outer layer of the mesothelium. However, due to the limitations of conventional fixation techniques, studies on glycans are limited.

Conversion of rice husks into carbonaceous materials with porous structures via hydrothermal process.

Carbonaceous materials hydrothermally produced using waste biomass have small specific surface areas (SSA) and poor porosity properties. In this study, we prepare a novel carbonaceous material with excellent porosity properties by suppressing the formation of a secondary char phase (spheres) and promoting biomass hydrolysis by controlling the hydrothermal conditions. Rice husk powders, as the starting material, are hydrothermally treated using acidic solvents of different types and concentrations at 180 °C.

[A Renal Leiomyoma --A Case Report-].

A 49-year-old female was incidentally found to have a left renal tumor during a medical check-up. The tumor was too small to be fully diagnosed using computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Since it was small and showed a homogenous enhancement pattern on contrast-enhanced CT, which made it difficult for us to distinguish the malignancy of the tumor, we performed regular CT follow-up.
