Native Cyclodextrin-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs): Synthesis, Characterization, and Potential Applications in Food Industry.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become a highly usable system in various sectors because of their highly ordered structure and high porosity providing them with high storage capacity. However, their use is sometimes forbidden in the food industry due to the presence of some organic compounds which have undesirable effects. Cyclodextrins, which are considered GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) by the FDA, comes as a very good alternative to previously used compounds for the development of the MOFs to be used in the food packaging industry, especially in the packaging sector.

Objectives: The goal was to study the ellipsoid zone (EZ) as a structural biomarker for final visual outcomes after pharmacological intervention in center-involving diabetic macular edema (DME) and surgical intervention for full-thickness macular holes (FTMHs).

Methods: This was a tertiary care center-based retrospective study. After sample size calculations, data from 64 consecutive cases were collected, with subjects aged between 40 and 60 years.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the perceived barriers faced by physicians in Maharashtra when recommending a millet-based diet for diabetic patients. Safety and Outcomes of an On-Demand Transfusion Strategy Versus Prophylactic Transfusion of Platelets in Patients With Liver Cirrhosis and Severe Thrombocytopenia Undergoing High-Risk Procedures: A Analysis of Two Randomized Controlled Trials.

Background: There are limited studies assessing whether prophylactic platelet transfusions prior to high-risk procedures reduce the risk of bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis.

Methods: We performed a analysis of two prior randomized clinical trials (CTRI/2017/12/010822 and CTRI/2021/05/033464), which compared thromboelastography-guided prophylactic platelet transfusion to standard-of-care (empirical prophylactic transfusion for all patients prior to the procedure) or on-demand transfusion (no prophylactic transfusions). We aimed to assess the risk of major procedure-related bleeding or mortality among patients who had received prophylactic platelet transfusions versus those who did not (on-demand transfusions).
