Epigastric pain and vomiting are common presentations associated with various causes of acute abdomen. Acute abdomen encompasses a range of different pathologies, with epigastric pain narrowing the differential diagnosis to conditions such as pancreatitis, bowel obstruction, acute cholecystitis, gastritis, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and peptic ulcer disease, such as gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers with/without perforation. This is a case of a male patient in his 80s who came to the emergency department with symptoms of generalized abdominal pain, vomiting, and constipation.

The optimized conditions for maximum dextran recovery were obtained using organic solvent found to be: supernatant: organic solvent - 1:4 v/v; organic solvents: ethanol, isopropanol, and acetone; temperature: 0 °C; and time: 16 h. Though a similar structure was obtained for dextran recovered using various solvents, the degree of branching varied, with DES-precipitated dextran having the highest branching of 20 % α-(1,3) linkages.

Immunization is an essential element in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. In recent literature, nanocarriers have exhibited the capacity to deliver protection, stability, and regulated distribution properties to protein-based antigens.

Hyaluronidases have been a subject of great interest in medical and cosmeceutical applications. Previously, our group demonstrated that the venom glands of contain hyaluronidase enzymes (VesT2s), and heterologous expression of the corresponding gene () in systems results in inclusion bodies, necessitating functional folding using urea. Here, we report the successful heterologous expression of VesT2a in the expression system, with gene construction achieved using Golden.

Objective: We aimed to define the clinical characteristics of a cohort of patients with Kpn infection in Dhaka, Bangladesh and to perform phenotypic and genetic characterization of the associated isolates.
Methods: We retrospectively extracted clinical data about patients at Dhaka Medical College Hospital from whom Klebsiella spp was isolated from a clinical specimen collected between February and September 2022.
