Feeding ecology is an essential component of an organism's life, but foraging comes with risks and energetic costs. Species in which populations exhibit more than one feeding strategy, such as sea turtles, are good systems for investigating how feeding ecology impacts life-history traits, reproduction and carried over effects across generations. Here, we investigated how the feeding ecology of loggerhead sea turtles () nesting at the Cabo Verde archipelago correlates with reproductive outputs and offspring quality.

Accordingly, we developed two fentanyl-vs-shock avoidance/escape choice procedures in which male and female rats responded under a fixed-ratio (FR)1:FR1 concurrent schedule of shock avoidance/escape and IV fentanyl under either mutually exclusive or non-exclusive choice conditions. Initial experiments using a discrete-trial procedure determined behavioral allocation between mutually exclusive shock avoidance/escape and different fentanyl doses (0.

These compounds are mixed-action agonists at the kappa and delta opioid receptors (KOR and DOR, respectively) and produce antinociception in a mouse warm-water tail-immersion test while failing to produce typical mu opioid receptor (MOR)-mediated side effects. The warm-water tail-immersion test is an assay of pain-stimulated behavior vulnerable to false-positive analgesic-like effects by drugs that produce motor impairment.

Among 67 participants, 86% (42/49) of those vaccinated at ages 12-15 months and 61% (11/18) of those vaccinated at 6 months remained seropositive at 23 years. Lack of maternal antibodies at enrollment and higher initial vaccine response were independently associated with higher antibody concentrations at 23 years.
