Acceptability and effect of mHealth application on knowledge, attitudes and practice of breastfeeding among primi mothers availing postnatal care at a rural tertiary hospital.

Introduction: ShishuPoshan is a free Android application for mothers that provides scientific guidance on breastfeeding and baby care issues in the local language. We aimed to assess its effect and acceptability in primi mothers in a rural area of Maharashtra, India.

Material And Methods: A before and after study was conducted in 50 primi mothers to study the acceptability and effect of ShishuPoshan mHealth application on knowledge, attitude and practice about breastfeeding in primi mothers in a rural tertiary care hospital.

Oral Manifestation in Postmenopausal Women of Maharashtra, Western Region.

Introduction: Menopause in women is a physiological state that gives rise to adaptive changes at both the systemic and oral levels. The oral manifestations of postmenopausal women may vary for each patient. It occurs in the form of burning mouth syndrome, xerostomia, periodontitis, etc.

Prevalence of Oral Cancer in Western Population of Maharashtra for 3 Years: A Prospective Study.

Introduction: In developing countries, oral cancer (OC) is estimated to be the third most common malignancy after cancer of the cervix and stomach. The aim of this study was to report the prevalence of OC for 3 years and its association with age, gender, type, and duration of habits along with the site of OC.

Materials And Methods: This study was conducted in the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology from January 2019 to December 2021.

Hydatid cyst of thyroid: An unusual cause of stridor.

A rare case of hydatid cyst of the thyroid is reported, which presented with slow growing swelling of weck in thyroid region since two years and severe dyspmoea and stridor since S days. She was posted for emergency tracheostomy with provisional diagnosis of multimodular thyroid goitre. During surgery multiple hydatid cysts in left lobe of thyroid were found and all cysts were removed.
