[Diagnostic value of fiber endoscopy in surgical diseases of the upper portions of the gastrointestinal tract in newborn infants].

The author analyzes 82 fibroendoscopic examinations of the upper parts of the gastro-intestinal tract in 65 newborns with surgical diseases of the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. The main group-44 patients-consisted of infants with a vomiting syndrome. Fibroendoscopy revealed a pathology of the cardial zone in 27 patients and pylorostenosis in 17 patients.
