BharatSim is an open-source agent-based modelling framework for the Indian population. It can simulate populations at multiple scales, from small communities to states. BharatSim uses a synthetic population created by applying statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to survey data from multiple sources, including the Census of India, the India Human Development Survey, the National Sample Survey, and the Gridded Population of the World.

LED technology has emerged as a promising non-thermal preservation method for highly perishable muscle foods like meat and fish. Muscle foods are most susceptible to spoilage due to their high moisture content and nutrient density, which create an ideal environment for microbial growth, chemical oxidation, and enzymatic activity, which negatively alter their quality. LED treatment offers an effective solution by significantly reducing microbial loads and extending shelf life without adversely affecting sensory and nutritional properties.

The first asymmetric total synthesis of C polyketides, aspilactonol F and aspiketolactonol has been achieved. Ring-closing-metathesis has been employed as the key step in the synthesis. The total synthesis of aspilactonol F and aspiketolactonol was accomplished in 8 and 10 steps, in good overall yields of 28% and 24%, respectively, with only four column purifications for the former.

Growing population, along with rapid urbanization, has led to severe water scarcity, necessitating development of novel techniques to mitigate this looming problem. Fog contains water in the form of liquid droplets suspended in air, which can be collected on a porous structure placed in the path of the fog flow. We first develop an artificial fog-generating system using the thermodynamic principle of mixing of air streams followed by condensation, which closely mimics the liquid water content and droplet size distribution of natural fog.
