Discussing Patient Emotions in Audiology: Provider Experiences With the Implementation Process of Hearing Loss Psychological Inflexibility Screenings.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate barriers and facilitators experienced by clinical educators and graduate students when talking with patients about difficult emotions and thoughts related to their hearing.

Method: A longitudinal observational design was used and an Implementation Research Logic Model guided the process. Five clinical educators and five graduate students participated in the study.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) possesses an arsenal of virulence factors to evade host immunity. Previously, we showed that the Mtb protein CpsA, which protects Mtb against the host NADPH oxidase, is required in mice during the first 3 weeks of infection but is thereafter dispensable for full virulence. Using flow cytometry, we find that ΔcpsA Mtb is retained in alveolar macrophages, impaired in recruiting and disseminating into monocyte-derived cells, and more likely to be localized in airway cells than wild-type Mtb.

Nonfamilial Bilateral Synchronous Renal Cell Carcinoma with Discordant Histology with Eventual Complete Response to Dual Immunotherapy.

Bilateral synchronous renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is rare, especially in sporadic rather than familial cases. While immunotherapy has improved prognosis, RCC remains a diagnosis with significant morbidity and mortality, particularly pronounced in patients with sarcomatoid RCC (sRCC). We describe a case of a patient with bilateral, synchronous, nonfamilial RCC, with and without sarcomatoid features and differing genetic markers, who demonstrated a pathologic response after neoadjuvant nivolumab and ipilimumab.
